February 2011

So it's February, going strong and I mean really strong. I started listening to this book in January called Mindless Eating. Had it for like 5 years and never made it past the first chapter. So I decide to give it a go while I was traveling and I learned a lot about how we eat and how setting, friends, plate and bowl size and proximity to name a few influence how and what we eat. So during February, I decide that I am going to try to implement some of the principles that I learned while listening to the book - in addition to trying to get my 500 calories three times a week with my weight workouts. What if - good food was in closer proximity and easier to access - would I eat more of it? Any Progress is Good Progress

For those of you that are women you can identify with me....some weeks there is this inner pull inside you that is so brutal that even the strongest of wills cannot resist - salt, sugar, chocolate, any food, all food!  Well this week was one of those weeks for me, combined with the fact that one of my best friends made me my favorite - vege beef pie (sorry to say I only shared a tiny piece)! Some progress, is better than no progress. In fact slow steady progress helps to ensure lasting change." How many of us tend to treat ourselves like option 1?  We we beat ourselves up so badly that...

Change, change and more change

Ok, so for the 4th time, I am finally past my flu bug and I have been thinking for the past few days - what on earth am I going to write about? I am still 13 pounds down, the scale has not really moved, what can I say that's inspiring or speaks to my progress? Side bar - one thing about this blog, it actually makes me think about my progress because I know there are these folks out there cheering me, supporting me, expecting me to make some progress - THANKS GUYS!! So, I have tested and found that the food thing works, we know that exercise works, now I need to think about some ways to switch things up a bit, so that I can trick my body out of Homeostasis.  I did do something yesterday but I am not quite ready to talk about that yet. Stay tuned.  So, for those of you that are cheering me on, I need a favor. Log into my blog and tell me your best secret for taking your workouts to another level? I need to trick my body into melting those pounds away.  Time to up the ...
